With the sudden death of Benedict Anderson in December of last year, Southeast Asian Studies lost one of its most important and influential scholars. Memorial services and other tributes have marked Anderson’s passing, in East Java, where he died, in Ithaca, New York, where he studied and taught at Cornell University since the 1960s, and elsewhere across the world.
